VoiceThread

I don't actually know if I would use this particular tool in my classroom because some students, especially elementary students, have self esteem issues and have to deal with peer pressure, and some students can be very judgmental. This program could possibly cause conflict between students because someone may say something offensive on another's voice thread. I don't know if that is true, but that is just my opinion.

WallWisher Challenge

WallWisher is fairly simple, and one good thing for the classroom is communication. Teachers can briefly post assignments for students to see if they missed class. It can also be a good way for students to evaluate a class and their learning experience just like we did with our favorite assignments. As for communication again, students can post emails, or appropriate contact info on there for the classroom as well.

PhotoPeach Challenge

It's Me!!...LaKeith-Shane!! on PhotoPeach

Although I love both of the programs, I think that Animoto would be more useful because you can be more creative it instead of PhotoPeach. With Animoto, you can choose backgrounds to suit your taste, but on PhotoPeach, you can't. Although you have to purchase an upgrade for Animoto to have a longer video, I still think it is more useful.

Animoto Challenge

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

The hardest part for me was editing the song to fit in the video the way I wanted it to. Overall, the entire video was an easy process if the directions are followed correctly. The easiest part was uploading the pictures because I already knew what I wanted in the video. i didn't know that the slides were going to go that fast, but being that it is only a 30-second video, it is quite understandable. I would definitely use this tool with students. Again, I think it is a great way to enhance their skills with technology that can be integrated into the classroom.

Blabberize Challenge

Glogster Challenge

The process of creating this Glog was pretty simple, yet the possibilities are endless as far as creativity. The only difficult part was finding a video for the topic I chose.
I think this is great for the classroom, and I, personally, would use it to introduce new topics for my students to enjoy learning.

Wordle: lakeith-shane-wordle

1. This would be a great idea to post rules of the classroom. If any rule would like to be stressed more than others, then that rule could added several times.

2. Students can do activities with Worlde; for example, I could ask the class to write down their favorite book, movie, food, game, song, etc. We can add all of the words to a class Worldle and see what favorite most students have in common.

3. It can be a behavior progression model. All students will have their names put into the Worldle 10 times each. if a student misbehaves, then that student will have one of his or her name taken off. It can be a weekly thing, and the student(s) with the biggest name is the most well-behaved student and possibly receive an award.

Motivational Poster Challenge

Everything with the instructions was pretty much explanatory, so I didn't have a problem at that area. The only problem I had was my fault when I clicked the BACK button by mistake, and I had to start over again.
This is a great tool for students to use for making a motivational poster. It gives the opportunity to use some imagination because there are so many different ways of portraying a motivational poster, and it can be customized to one's liking.

Widgets Challenge

Only2Clicks Challenge

Only2Clicks is a tool that allows you to view all of your bookmarked pages from one site. This is a fast and efficient way for internet users to have an overview of their favorite websites on one page. It is a lot like Google Chrome; instead, you can personalize it and control what you want on the page and edit it to suit your style.

ToonDoo Challenge "No Cell Phones!"

 NO CELL PHONES

CORRECTION ON THE LITTLE GIRL'S PHONE CONVERSATION: It's supposed to say, "Mom, I'm sorry. I won't go over my minutes again! Yes, I told him that you are coming down the hallway now."

5th Grade Math
One way I would use ToonDoo is, of course, get my message across to the students about classroom rules. Another way is to incorporate it into PowerPoint presentations to make them more interesting for the students. I would also try to incorporate them into a bi-weekly newsletter that I would send to the parents about what is going on and upcoming events in the classroom. Lastly, I would give the students the opportunity to create their own ToonDoo on an area of math that they found to be the most interesting or challenging.

Podcast Challenge

My Voki

This is a great and fun way to introduce yourself to your students and parents. Most people are camera shy or don't like the sound of their voice, so I think this is a great alternative. I may use Voki for any, and probably, every assignment that I happen to post online. Using the voice already on there, I think it would save me a lot of time editing for posting instructions for assignments.

Educational Blogs (Blog Challenge)

One of the blogs that I read was under the Resources for Teachers link that was called Math Live.  I felt this particular blog was interesting because math excites me altogether.  As I was reading through, I gained more and more interest in this educational blog.
Math lessons online, especially for elementary students, should be fun and exciting to do while learning at the same time.  I believe this lesson is a great way to acknowledge that.  Also, it covers a lot of different aspects of math for children in elementary school.
Another thing that I found to be interesting about it is that it provides parent and teacher notes.  This is a great way for parents and teachers to communicate and be on the same page with their children, and it also gives the parents the opportunity to get more involved in their child's curriculum.
Learning math is always through assessments as well, for children can see where they as far as their strengths and weaknesses, and this lesson provides that as well.  The child can see where his or her weakness is and go back to the games or lesson to hit that certain area again.  Overall, it is a great learning process, and that is what I found to be interesting in this particular blog.
